*Matthew 7:24-27 ~ Building your life on Christ*

24. Therefore whoever hears these words of mine and does them will be like a prudent man who built his house on the rock. 25. The rain fell, the floods came, the winds blew and beat against this house: it did not fall, because it was founded on the rock. 26. But whoever hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27. The rain fell, the floods came, the winds blew and beat that house: it fell, and its ruin was great.

Jesus calls us to build our lives on him and on obedience to his word. The rain will fall, the floods will come, the winds will blow, but those who have built their house on Christ are like a house built on rock that can withstand these trials.

Those who have trusted in anything other than Christ are like houses built on sand that cannot stand and are swept away by the waves.

Let us never forget that Jesus gave his life for us so that we might find a home in him and be kept in perfect peace.

This is not a promise of a carefree, problem-free existence, but rather a life that knows and trusts a God who holds and keeps us in all seasons.
