*Hebrews 10:20 ~ The new and living way to God*

10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

The curtain of the Jewish temple, which represented the separation between incurably sinful man and the eternally perfect God, was torn from top to bottom – from heaven to earth – demonstrating that the finished work of Christ Jesus was accepted and sufficient.

Jesus declared that he was the way to God the Father. Throughout his life, he showed people how to have a close relationship with God. Through his death, he made it possible for people to receive this relationship with God.

This is a new type of relationship between God and his people. This is a closer relationship that the priests of Israel did not know. They could not pass through the curtain to enter the holiest place. But thanks to the death of Jesus, the curtain no longer separates God from his people. The path to God is now open, because God wants his people to have the closest possible relationship with him.
